During Spring Break 2010, we’ll be doing something new: two mission trips! The first is a return to the Beach Reach ministry in Panama City Beach, Florida, and the other is a trip to New Orleans to participate in Mission Lab. Here are some things you’ll need to know about going on either trip:
When: March 12 to March 20, 2010
Cost: $330 with a $50 deposit due December 13. The overall cost will increase to $360 if you make your deposit after that. As always, if the cost of the trip is an issue, but you want to go, talk to us and we’ll figure something out.
Panama City Beach is hailed as the “Spring Break Capital of the World,” and it can get pretty crazy while we’re down there. Our ministry in PCB involves providing free nightly van rides students and free pancake breakfasts to students spending their spring break there. We do this as a service to them — the van rides keep them safe, and the breakfasts keep them full — but it also gives us an opportunity to talk to them about spiritual matters. “Beach Reachers” share tables with spring breakers at breakfast, accompany them on van rides, and hit the streets each night in order to have engaging, life-changing conversations with them.
