“Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy.”
– Psalm 86:6
Most of us spend a lot of time talking with our friends. How often do we spend talking to the Creator of the universe? Prayer is talking with God — just telling Him our concerns, asking Him for guidance, and listening for His response.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
– Philippians 4:6
We can accomplish nothing without God. We can keep trying to get things done but we will not succeed alone. We can try to force the door open, but it won’t work. Instead, we should pray for God to open the door and watch Him answer our prayers.
“I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!”
– Isaiah 65:24
